The hospital is open for you throughout the day.
Emmendingen District Hospital is the health centre for the region. With the latest technology and know-how, the specialised departments offer a comprehensive range of medical services on an interdisciplinary basis. As a basic and standard care facility, the district hospital has 263 beds. Every year, about 12,000 patients are treated as inpatients, in addition to about 20,000 outpatients from the district and the region.
With 670 employees - including 350 nurses and 100 doctors - the district hospital is one of the largest employers in the city and the district of Emmendingen. The hospital is run by the district of Emmendingen. Together with the Centre for Psychiatry, the district hospital runs the "Berufsfachschule für Pflege im Landkreis Emmendingen" (vocational school for nursing in the district of Emmendingen) to train its own junior staff. Every year in April and October, 25 young men and women start their training as nursing specialists here.
The district hospital has the only maternity ward in the district. In the three delivery rooms, some with birthing tubs, about 750 children are born every year.
With its distinctive reddish-brown façade, the district hospital is located in a quiet area on the edge of the Emmendingen forest and is easy to reach from the city centre.
