Screeching brakes, steeming boilers, whistles and screaming, heavy machinery, hard work, sweat and tears… this is how it used to be here. What remained is the unique industrial atmosphere and the large space around the freshly renovated, over a hundred year old building of the „Kantina“. In this place where track workers and railroad employees came to eat you can feel a little "wild west" spirit mixed with history in Freiburg. A special place that today creates a center for culinary travel from the region to further away. A transshipment station for the good taste. Enjoy the atmosphere. The signals are set to green.

Besides many years of combined experience of gastronomy, the Kantina team shares are common vision: "To create a place where guests feel uncoditionally welcomed and happy" or "Let the guest experience and enjoy with all their senses.", are sententeces that express exactly what the three partners feel. These are the standarts they and their team want to be measured by.
