The fascination of Danube infiltration
Danube infiltration
Ziegelhütte, 78194 Immendingen
A unique natural phenomenon - the Danube seepage: a river suddenly splits into two seas.
A large part of the Danube water disappears into the ground in several places near Immendingen in the Donaubergland.
The first major sinkhole of the Danube seepage is located at the weir near the covered wooden bridge and near the Donauuferpark II in Immendingen. Depending on the water level, individual sinkholes can be seen there. Up to 8 square meters of Danube water per second disappear into the Danube riverbed here.
